Villars Over the Years
An exhibition that immerses visitors in the history of the village through a collection of vintage postcards.

Dates : July 31 to August 27
Time : Every day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Vernissage : July 31 at 4:00PM
Venue: Exhibition Hall - Villars Palace
The exhibition traces the evolution of Villars, mainly from the early 1900s to around the 1960s. It is built around the collection of Mr. Robert Dupertuis, who spent more than forty years gathering vintage postcards from the region. Some of the original postcards are displayed directly on the tables.
The exhibition panels are organized around several major themes drawn from his collection, presenting the history of Villars in a way that is accessible even to visitors who are unfamiliar with the area. These themes include the development of the village and tourism, hotels, transportation, winter sports, schools, places of worship, as well as various neighborhoods and iconic landmarks.
A selection of archival documents and objects further enriches the exhibition. The aim is to give visitors the opportunity to discover and visualize what Villars looked like in the past through these remarkable postcards.
